Our History

MAIC Amici Agri-Business Company Ltd (MAA) has grown from a vision to empower Ugandan farmers into a key player in the coffee and cocoa value chain. Rooted in addressing real challenges like low incomes and environmental degradation, our journey reflects commitment to sustainability and community impact.

Founding and Early Years

Established in Kasana town, Luweero District, along the Kampala-Gulu highway, MAA was founded to tackle issues faced by smallholder farmers, including price volatility and middlemen exploitation. Drawing from Uganda’s rich agricultural heritage—where coffee accounts for over 20% of exports (FAO, 2023)—we began with direct fair-trade contracts and processing facilities. <img src=”[UPLOAD OR LINK TO HISTORICAL PHOTO FROM DRIVE, e.g., https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uHZr0rH1AFPioXMIAq0wzINl3TAj0y3a]” alt=”Early MAIC Operations”>Our beginnings in Luweero
